On Feb 5^th 2018, a meeting was held at Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) Dr SalarAmoli, Acting Minister for International Scientific Cooperation, Dr Barkhordari, Chancellor of IUST, Dr Broumand, Deputy Minister for Research & Technology, Dr Shahhoseini IUST Vice-Chancellor for International Affairs represented the IUST and MSRT and delivered talks to explain the detailed goals and possible achievements of IGSD2018. More than 50 heads of international offices of the Iranian universities which will participate in IGSD 2018 attended this meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, DrSalarAmoli delivered a talk, in which the goals and the potential capacity of academic cooperation between Iran and Germany were described. This was followed by Dr Brakhordari talk about the IGSD2018 goals and the program considered for this event. Then Dr Broumand explained the international, research and educational capacities of the IGSD for the audiences. The meeting was continued by presentation of Dr Mohammad Zadeh, Vice-Minister, Roads and Urban Development and President of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI). After an introduction on the current situation of RAI and railway industry in Iran, Dr Mohammad Zadeh explained the desire of RAI for academic cooperation and performing joint research with universities and gave examples of best practices in this regard. The meeting continued by open discussion of participants regarding their previous experience with German universities and their expectation from IGSD.
